A leading European tier 1 supplier of under bonnet components, to many of the world’s largest automotive companies required a partner to assist with their rapid development programme for a range of new 3 and 4 cylinder air intake manifold systems. To complete the rigorous product testing phases, the components needed to be moulded in the production intent materials to a high specification and to a very tight development schedule.

The company’s choice for the job was R&R Technologies. 7 tools were produced to manufacture 3 different variants of manifolds. The initial CAD models were redesigned for production by our in-house CAD team, tools were then designed, manufactured and trialed by R&R Technologies.

Despite a demanding four week delivery schedule and continuous modifications to the design, R&R Technologies 24/7 capability provided high quality prototype components. The success of the first phase formed the basis of a 4 year continuous development partnership.
