The Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process offers the capacity to create strong and durable, functional plastic prototypes for a wide range of applications. This process is self supporting allowing parts to be built within other parts with complex geometry, which could not be made in any other way. It is particularly well suited to under bonnet applications.

Like Stereolithography (SLA) the SLS process is a layer-additive processes building in layers from 3D data, but uses a hot laser to sinter the nylon powder. For form, fit, function and aesthetic evaluation, R&R Technologies produces a range of SLS models as a fast, cost effective method of proving CAD design before committing to your chosen production route.

SLS modelling offers the best rapid prototyping process for accurate models for form fit and functional prototype validation. With our Vanguard we can manufacture accurate prototypes, with a typical tolerance of +/-0.2mm per 100mm.

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) models are very robust, but are slightly porous, additional hand finishing can be carried out to seal and produce a very high quality surface finish.
